Antonio Afable, Jr
A Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Arts. He has exhibited his works in Italy, France, Canada, Japan and Philippines. He is active with the Philippine Artist Group of Canada, A.C.C.E.S. France and Pintor Kulapol in his hometown Tuy, Batangas, Philippines. Former member of Degli Artisti in Rome, Italy, Art Association of the Philippines and Manila Artists Group. Jun won the Second Prize in an “On-the-Spot Painting Contest” held at the City Gallery in Manila in 1979. In 1985, he was awarded a Bronze medal at the 7th Concorzo Di Pittura Estemporanea in Rome, Italy.
In May 2000, Antonio migrated to Canada. He continued his artistic journey through participation in juried shows in Toronto and joined the Philippine Artists Group of Canada (PAG) in 2003. In July 2012, he won First Prize in Plein Air competition organized by the Ontario Plein Air Society (OPAS) . In September 2012, he won Third Prize in another OPAS Plein Air competition. In 2019 he won First Prize at the Belleville Plein Air Competition. Won Best in Architecture at the King City Ontario Plein Air Competition in October 2022. Finalist at the 2022 Mc Michael Canadian Art Collection Plein Air Competition and his painting was exhibited at Mc Michael Gallery. Finalist at “Art Comp 2024” painting competition, London Ontario, Canada. Honorable Mention at 2024 Elora Ontario, Canada at Quick Paint Plein Air.
Antonio is now concentrating with his Abstract paintings and upcoming art exhibitions, both in group and his own Solo exhibitions.
